Coverage & Datasets
Alaska fish count data spans Southcentral, Southeast, Interior, and other regions. The Alaska Fish Counts App aggregates data from the ADF&G Sport Fish Monitoring program, Commercial Escapement Monitoring, and SASAP historical datasets. Each source covers different locations, time periods, and species.
Sport fish monitoring focuses on popular rivers like the Kenai, Kasilof, Russian, Deshka, and Little Susitna. Commercial data includes Bristol Bay drainages (Nushagak, Naknek, Kvichak), Copper River, and Southeast Alaska. SASAP provides historical data from 1921 through 2017 for research and long-term trend analysis.
